The mainstay of our work is maintaining and repairing church textiles. We are also looking at appliquéd seasonal banners for the pillars, covers for the library bookshelves and work on the curtain over the south-east door.
Over recent years we have made seat cushions, hassocks and kneelers for the altars, repaired altar frontals, and made a complete new top. Other projects have included covers for the piano in St Wystan's and the organ in Foremark church, making purificators and lavabo towels from old vestments, and making the Whitsuntide banner for the Millennium procession and celebration.
Hassocks throughout the church represent people and activities in the village, or commemorate those who have died. However, the first set, for the south aisle, was based loosely on the hymn "All things bright and beautiful", reflecting the blue and gold frontal of the altar that stood in the Fynderne chapel. When in 1998 the Fynderne chapel was taken over by the new organ, we transferred the frontal to the altar in Foremark Church, as we believe that its golden lilies originated there.
