Relations with other Churches

St Wystan's is an Anglican church, part of the Church of England, within the diocese of Derby.

We welcome members of other Christian churches to all our services, and to share in communion with us. The congregation includes people from other traditions including Methodist and Roman Catholic.   Whatever their reason to share in our worship - perhaps to attend their local church or to be with their partner or spouse - they are very welcome and play a full part in church life.

At a local level St Wystan's enjoys good relations with the Roman Catholic and United Reformed Churches.   (There is no Methodist church locally.)   The focus for ecumenical activity is 'Churches Together in Repton'.   This relationship was strengtheneded at the Covenant Service on 11th January 2004 with the signing of a covenant by representatives of the Church of England, Roman Catholic, and United Reformed Church communities.

The URC Secretary has an open invitation to attend PCC meetings and contributes regular articles to The Parish Magazine, which covers all URC matters.

There is no Roman Catholic Church in Repton; the village is part of the Roman Catholic parish of St Peter and St Paul in Swadlincote.   Repton Catholics generally worship either there, in Burton, in Derby or in Melbourne.

There are Methodist and Baptist congregations in Burton and Derby.
